What brings us more than divides us! This is the emblem of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and this clearly shows from the moment you enter the museum, which cost the construction of a billion dollars!
The Louvre Abu Dhabi was opened in 2017 in cooperation with the Government of France and the Government of the United Arab Emirates. It took 10 years to build and organize since the signing of the agreement.
What distinguishes this museum is the display and organization of archaeological artifacts by time and not by the place of discovery, which highlights the similarities between different cultures around the world.
The museum also contains the exhibition of the symbols of the first great powers, which rests on the throne of Pharaoh Ramses II, who ruled Egypt from 1279 BC to 1213 BC, as well as the gallery of the court of princes, which includes paintings and royal symbols of the families of Hekmat around the world.
In conjunction with the Year of Tolerance, the museum has a special section on world religions and displays discoveries from different religions from around the world as well.
The tour ends with a contemporary art exhibition that mimics our time with the creativity and portrayal of artists now. We also visited the temporary museum which now houses paintings by Rembrandt and Vernier.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is designed to embrace various artistic expressions from all civilizations and cultures that have arisen from the dawn of time to the present.
The museum displays 600 artifacts, 300 permanent objects and 300 seconded items from various museums around the world. The museum has 12 permanent exhibitions and four temporary exhibitions during the year, highlighting global and common themes
