One of the tourist places in Medina, which is also religious in nature, is located mountain north of Medina, the largest and highest mountains of the city at an altitude of more than 1000 meters above sea level, and about five kilometers from the Prophet's Mosque. Jabal Uhud derived its importance from having embraced the battle of Uhud between Muslims and Kfar Quraish, during which many companions, most notably the uncle of the Prophet Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib, were martyred.
