The bustling Lower Town or Lower Town is one of the most beautiful vocabulary of Ottawa tourism, and is located north of the Rideau Canal. Beward Market, one of Ottawa's attractions and the region, has enjoyed a colorful and vibrant life since 1846.

In the summer, the scene is complemented by fruits, flowers and vegetable stalls on the streets as well as food shops in the main market hall. In fact, the entire market area has been thoroughly restored with the availability of many restaurants and smart shops.

Within the neighborhood, there is the Canadian National Gallery, a piece of unique architecture that contains a huge collection of artwork by Canadian and international artists.

Opposite the National Gallery is Notre Dame, a beautiful Catholic church dedicated in 1846, containing mahogany sculptures by F. Parizzo, the books of the four evangelicals, the prophets and the apostles by Louis Philippe Hebert, and some particularly stained glass are fine. The Majors Hill Park, southwest of the Basque Country, has thousands of tulips in May and June, one of Ottawa's landmarks.
