Reflection Falls occur on the St. John River, when the rising tide pushes against the flow of the river and forces increased water from upstream. At low islands, the sea level is less than four meters above the river, and a stream of water flows into the bay.

As the tide rises, the flow of the river flows, then decreases, before finally reversing. When water rises, when the level in the bay rises more than four meters above the river, the most dramatic reflection occurs.

The best falls can be appreciated in reverse of the Falls Bridge, where the river narrows and sinks through a deep corridor. Good views of the river rapids can also be found at the end of Fallsview Ave. Visit at different times to see tide situations. Accurate times can be obtained from the Tourist Information Center.
