This scenic coastline is located northeast of St. John's, close to the historic St. Martin shipbuilding community. The road runs paved along the coast, with views, hiking trails, and beaches along the way.
The area once supported logging, including a thriving (but now gone) village in the Great Salmon River. An interpretive center, a few ruins of buildings, and a suspension bridge are all sitting on the site.
