On a clear day, Fort Howe National Historic Site offers a magnificent panorama unfolding on the shipyards, harbor, river and city.
The wooden slope is a replica of a building built in 1777 in Halifax, then dismantled and rebuilt to protect St. John's Harbor. The castle is located on a cliff from the main street via Metcalfe and Magazine Street.
