Longchamp Palace is located in the fourth district of the city of Marseille, France, one of the most important places of tourism in Marseille and most visited.
Surrounded by the Palace, Longshan Park, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, is considered one of the most beautiful and most important French gardens ever.
The Longchamp Palace was established to celebrate the excavation of the Marseille Canal, which supplies the city with fresh water from the Dorrance River. While the foundation stone of the palace was laid in late 1839, by the Duke of Orleans, the construction work took 30 years, due to very high construction expenses. The Longchamp Palace was designed by architect Henry Esperando.
