Opened in 1994, this concert hall is one of the largest concert halls in the South of France with a modular capacity of up to 8,500 spectators. Located in the Quartier Saint Just, in the 4th arrondissement of Marseille, it is an essential place on the Marseille scene.
Its dimensions make it a quite visible and particularly recognizable place. The shape of the Dôme was designed by the architect Denis Sloan, to recall the hull of an overturned boat, with an arch nearly 27 metres high.
Did you know that it has the particularity to have been made by the Saint Malo shipyard? In addition, the Dôme auditorium is located right next to the Conseil Général, very recognizable by its all blue and glazed structure.
Millions of spectators have visited the Dôme to applaud their favourite artists or discover new ones. Between its inauguration and 2004, the Dôme attracted nearly 6 million spectators. Thus, more than 300,000 spectators attend each year.
