The imposing façade of the neo-Gothic Town Hall (1877) graces pedestrianized Albert Square, and the tower offers excellent panoramic views of the city.

Inside, the Council Chamber merits special attention, along with the cycle of Ford Madox Brown paintings that depict the history of the city. While there, visit the Free Trade Hall, opened in 1951.
