Named after the man who was in charge for more than 50 years at the start of the 20th century, this natural history museum was given a big update a few years back and reopened in 2011.

Multimedia and interactive exhibits now go hand-in-hand with the classic dinosaur skeletons, taxidermies and dioramas, many of which were first set up by Antipa decades ago.

In the basement there’s a comprehensive exhibition on the biodiversity of Romania, while the ground floor deals with all the major ecosystems on the earth’s surface.
