It was built for the first time in 1974, and then progressed by the development, modernization and expansion, and in fact is several overlapping bridges located in the area of Mina, where it was allocated for the pilgrims walk when they throw stones during the pilgrimage, and these sub-bridges were devoted to each of Aqaba and the Central Aqaba And the third to the Great Aqaba.
The old bridges witnessed the traditional design of the stampede; they were demolished and new bridges consisting of four floors with 11 entrances and 12 exits, 950 meters long and 80 meters wide, with a concrete structure capable of accommodating and carrying more than five million pilgrims at one time. With an emergency helipad, cooling system and ground tunnels, the engineering design of the project has won numerous international awards.
